Lent is a season that begins with deep contemplation of our sinfulness, our brokenness, and even our mortality. Yet it does not end there. This holy journey leads us toward healing, wholeness, and the triumphant victory of Jesus Christ over the powers of sin and death.

It is easy to want to move quickly from the solemnity of Lent to the joy of Easter morning. But Holy Week invites us to slow down. It calls us to walk with Jesus through the final days of his earthly life, to listen again to the story of his agony, suffering, and death, and to reflect on the depth of God’s love poured out for us through Christ. In doing so, we gain a fuller glimpse of what God has done to redeem the world.

I hope you will take time to enter fully into this sacred week.

Our community Holy Week services offer a meaningful opportunity to worship alongside fellow believers throughout Statesboro:
Community Holy Week Services from 12:00-1:00 PM
Monday, March 30 – Pastor Lisa Deloach at First Presbyterian Church
Tuesday, March 31 – Rev. Craig R. Tremble at Trinity Episcopal Church
Wednesday, April 1 – Rev. Mark Burgess at St. Matthew Catholic Church
Thursday, April 2 – Rev. Lainie Jenkins at Agape Worship Center
Friday, April 3 – Rev. Jimmy Cason at Second St. John

Here at Pittman Park, we will also gather for two special services during Holy Week:
Maundy Thursday – Stations of the Cross – 6:00 PM
Good Friday – Good Friday Service – 6:00 PM
These services give us space to pray, reflect, and remember the love of Christ shown through his suffering and sacrifice.

Then on Easter Sunday, we will gather in joy to celebrate the resurrection:

Easter Sunday at Pittman Park
Sunrise Service – 7:00 AM
Easter Breakfast – Immediately following the Sunrise Service in the Student Center
The N9ne Contemporary Worship – 9:00 AM
Traditional Worship – 11:00 AM

Join us as we come to the end of our Lenten journey and celebrate the risen Christ. After walking with Jesus through the shadow of the cross, we will gather with joy to proclaim the good news that the grave is empty, death is defeated, and hope is alive.

I look forward to worshiping with you in this holy season.

God bless,
Jonathan
