The Backstory- Luke 1:5-22
Have you ever felt overlooked?
Zechariah and Elizabeth were faithful, yet unable to conceive a child
but they were not forgotten.
-God often begins his greatest works through the lives of those who feel overlooked.
In a sacred and routine act of service and worship, God appears to Zechariah.
Instead of rejoicing, Zechariah questions how this can happen.
-God invites us to believe beyond our circumstances.
As a consequence to Zechariah's doubt, Zechariah is rendered silent until the promise is fulfilled.
His silence gives him space to see the goodness and faithfulness of God.
-Our God is never absent.
What is God doing in your life that might be the backstory of some great thing that could happen?
Your story matters, not because you're in it, but because God is in it.
