SERMON
Mark 5:1-20

Today’s message is about freedom, healing, and the call to remember.

In Mark 5, Jesus meets a man possessed, isolated, and chained—not just by demons, but by the world that had given up on him. Yet Jesus steps ashore and speaks peace, setting him free and restoring him to his right mind. It's a powerful reminder that no one is too far gone, no chain too strong, for the grace and authority of Christ.

Where are you in this story?
Are living among the tombs, surrounded by reminders of what's over and broken?
Are you chained by addiction, grief, fear, bitterness, comparison?
Are you standing with the townspeople, watching Jesus work, but resistant to how much change might be required of you?
Are you healed but silent?

Jesus sees you. Jesus sets you free. Jesus sends you.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we also pause to remember those who laid down their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice invites us to live not just in freedom—but with purpose, gratitude, and compassion for others.
