SERMON
Luke 24:13-24
Jesus himself.
Jesus is beside them.
Jesus asks them to tell him what hurts.
Verse 21: “But we had hoped that
he was the one to redeem Israel.”
-Their hope is in the past tense, but Jesus is standing in the present.
Verse 24: “But they did not see Jesus.”
-How many times have we?
Not recognizing Jesus is not the same as Jesus not being there.
-The question mark does not scare Jesus away.
-Before we recognize him, Jesus is already present.
Sometimes the clearest evidence that God is here is a person who refuses to walk away.
-For someone asking, “God, are you here?” let your life become part of the answer.
