Exodus 13:17-22
The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness
-Big Thunder Mountain
-The ride feels like chaos.
-The engineering is total oversight.
We've all been on a detour we didn't choose.
God Chose the Long Way on Purpose.
-When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter.
-God looked at it and said: Not that way.
Fear edits the past.
Fear makes bondage feel like home.
And God said: I know a road that fits where you actually are.
That's grace.
God Chose the Long Way on Purpose
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him.
-We are walking today in the answer to prayers others prayed.
-You don't have to see the ending to be faithful in the middle.
The Lord went before them.
-God didn't disappear when it got dangerous. God repositioned.
Where is your wilderness right now?
The detour was chosen.
The bones are worth carrying.
The pillar never left its place.
